Aug 04Are Animals That Stupid?
Interstate 57 is a rural highway that students use to get to Champaign from Chicago (or anywhere in northern Illinois). As such, a lot of dead animals (raccoons, birds, possums, and even deer) are found along the road.
From my own experiences, there have been several times that birds will swoop down into the middle of oncoming traffic (not avoiding the airspace just above speeding cars) and barely hit my car. My question is, are these type of animals stupid or simply suicidal? If the latter, I feel sorry for them. They have many an offspring to live for…
