Taking Ideas from Other Comics.

It’s sad that no one really got the “Felicity’s Way” joke. Oh well.

Of the comics I spoofed (if you haven’t noticed already): “Dilbert”, “Peanuts”, “Love Is..”, and “The Boondocks.” And is it me, or did they pull “The Boondocks” out of the Chicago Tribune?

And That’s the Punchline.

So it was all a dream Chris had, including the entire cast exploding…I wanted to make “Felicity’s Way” to have a five-day run, but everyone was so upset and disgusted by the four comics, I had no choice but to bring back Sausage-Fest prematurely. Oh well, I had fun playing this practical joke on everyone, and every time I reread the “Felicity’s Way” comics, I crack up.

Period.

I really enjoyed drawing “Felicity’s Way” under the alias Felicity Mills… my bosses and the readers (most of them, that is) were not as amused. My editor told me to put Nigel and Randy, just to assure everyone that Sausage-Fest was coming back.

Women’s Kryptonite.

I wanted the comic to emulate “Cathy” or something. I think I succeeded.

Colder Than My Ex-Boyfriend!

I find the utter blandness of the comic to be, well, funny.

Felicity’s Way.

After last semester’s cliffhanger, all of the Sausage-Fest characters appeared dead. In their stead, a student named Felicity Mills “took over my spot” with her poorly-drawn, unhumorous, fem-comic, “Felicity’s Way.”

Needless to say, a lot of people were outraged at the overall crappiness of “Felicity’s Way.”
